SUBMISSION GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS
The International Journal of Toxicology publishes timely, peer-reviewed papers on current topics important to toxicologists. Six bi-monthly issues cover a wide range of topics, including contemporary issues in toxicology, safety assessments, novel approaches to toxicological testing, mechanisms of toxicity, biomarkers, and risk assessment. The Journal also publishes invited reviews on contemporary topics, and features articles based on symposia. In addition, supplemental issues are routinely published on various special topics, including three supplements devoted to contributions from the Cosmetic Ingredient Review Expert Panel.
Manuscripts should be submitted electronically to the Editor. Authors will be asked to set up an online account in the SAGETRACK system, powered by ScholarOne. For questions regarding submission, contact Mary Beth Genter, Editor, at gentermb@ucmail.uc.edu.
Style: Beginning in 2009 (volume 28, issue 1) the International Journal of Toxicology will change to the American Medical Association (AMA) format for text, citations, and references. Authors submitting manuscripts to IJT should consult the 10th Edition of the AMA Manual of Style for style guidelines. References must be numbered in the text, and listed in numerical order at the end of the text.

Submission: The following will be requested during online submission: (a) names, credentials, positions, and complete contact information for the corresponding author; names, credentials, positions, and e-mail addresses for all co-authors; acknowledgements if appropriate; (b) cover letter; (c) abstract of 150 words; (d) keywords; and (e) one complete Microsoft Word file of the article with the following components (listed in order of appearance): (1) main body of article, (2) references, and (3) tables. Figures will be uploaded separately, and should meet the following criteria:
300 dpi or higher JPEG and TIFF format files are preferred Please keep in mind that manuscripts will not be reviewed until all necessary information has been submitted. Conflict of Interest Disclosure: Authors are required to disclose any possible conflicts of interest. Sufficient disclosure may include divulging affiliation as members of industrial or government organizations, academic support, non-profit consulting, advocacy, and all sources of financial and material support for studies and manuscripts submitted.
Guidelines for Ethical Publications: A policy statement and guidelines for ethical publications is published in the first issue of the journal every volume year.
